Important Considerations for Tour Reservations
Please review the following information prior to submitting your tour request below:
Availability: As an active Mission, there are times when the Mission church and cemetery are closed to the public for Masses, weddings, funerals, and events. We will do our best to notify you of any closures or changes to the tour prior to booking.
Capacity: Groups of 60 or more will be asked to split their visit between two days or two morning/afternoon sessions. While touring, please plan on splitting up your party into groups of 10 or less prior to entering the tour route. Due to the small confines of spaces within the Mission, we ask that larger groups stagger their entries by 5-10 minutes per group. We ask that 1 adult chaperone accompanies every 10 children/students and we ask that children/students stay with their group at all times.
Payment: Payment upon arrival with a credit card or cash is preferred. If a check must be used, payment cannot be refunded. We do not accept personal checks for field trips or group tours. If fewer individuals in your group arrive on your visit date, the group will be responsible for payment of all reserved tickets. If you arrive with more individuals than you reserved, the admission price for the extra guests would be an addition. Please contact us if your group count goes up so that we can guarantee your space.
Property and Belongings: Please leave all backpacks and food in your transportation vehicle(s), they cannot be brought through the property. Schools and large groups are welcome to use the picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot for lunch breaks or sit out on the Mission lawn. All trash must be disposed of in our trash cans, please do not leave trash or leave litter on the property.
Shopping: Our gift shop is small and cannot accommodate large groups at one time. If you plan to shop before or after your tour, please let us know at booking. On the day of your visit, you can coordinate with a staff member on splitting up into smaller groups of 10 or less. Group leaders will be responsible for managing time so that everyone in your party has a chance to shop. Children must be accompanied with at least one chaperone when shopping.
Behavior: Many parts of the Mission are considered sacred & historic, so we kindly ask that students and visitors keep this is mind and refrain from climbing or touching monuments, headstones, and artwork while on Mission property.
