Old Mission Santa Barbara’s Photography/ Videography Policy

Please note that the Rose Garden park across from Mission Santa Barbara is owned by the City of Santa Barbara. Approval granted by the City for commercial photography in the Rose Garden park does not extend to Old Mission Santa Barbara.
Personal photography is allowed in the following areas:
The grounds in front of the Mission
The Museum
The Church
Other approved public areas of the tour.
REFLECTOR SCREENS, TRIPODS, and MONOPODS are not permitted.
Personal videography without tripods is allowed ONLY in public outdoor areas.
The private inner gardens of the Mission grounds, except those areas visible from the designated tour route, are off limits for photography unless otherwise approved by the administration. To request approval, please complete the form below.
Commercial/model photography is not allowed without prior administrative approval and is highly scrutinized for appropriateness. To request approval, please complete the form below.
Individuals/groups granted administrative approval for photography or videography must present a copy of the fully signed agreement upon arrival at the Mission and keep it on hand throughout the duration of the activity as verification of approval.
The use of images and likenesses of Old Mission Santa Barbara is not permitted for any commercial/political enterprise or advertisement.
DRONES ARE NOT ALLOWED and are subject to both State and local laws.
Photographer’s must provide certificate of liability ($1 Million General Liability is required).
